"What does the Missouri House of Representatives do?"
The Missouri House of Representatives is a legislative body of the Missouri State Government. The elected members convene to bring forth new bills and to vote them into law. The Missouri House of Representatives also, according to tradition, introduces the annual appropriations bill that determines the budget for the state government over the following year.
"Okay, but how does that affect me?"
Actually, your local Representative affects more than you might think. Everything from how much you might get paid at work (can introduce bills that influence the local minimum wage, or put caps on wages for certain jobs), access to education (can introduce bills that influence the rate of student loans or funding of local schools), and even your daily life (can introduce bills that influence weapon ownership, access to contraceptives, and access to state funded medical care). 20/20 vision by 2020 to elect Connie Simmons
Thank you to everyone who voted for me Nov 6. Although we did not prevail, we got our name out there and people know that there is a choice. We obtained 4000 votes! Not too bad for a girl with no political experience. I am beyond happy that all of those people were willing to put their faith in me! So, what is next? I have a challenge for each of you, I want you to keep up with what our current Representative, Glen Kolkmeyer, is doing and let him know what you think! Call him, text him, e-mail him, mail him, visit him. Just as I would have wanted you to do with me, we need to let him know what we want. The fact of the matter is that Democrats and Republicans both have good ideas and Democrats and Republicans both have bad ideas. We need to take the good ideas and act upon them and throw out the bad ones. It shouldn't matter who came up with it! Now we must keep learning and keep aware of what is going on so that we can gain 20/20 vision by 2020. I still want to actually Represent you. The only way to do that is by you sharing with me what you want. My door is always open to hear your ideas and your preferences. Then, in 2020, I will be a representative that votes for or against an idea because you want me to and it is best for our children's future. Gain 20/20 vision by 2020!
What part of NO didn't they understand on Prop A.
